Many people have reacted on how the FDA or Food and Drug Administration could have saved the lives of women who have suffered from the side effects of one of the most popular brand of contraceptive pills available in the market today; the YAZ birth control.
Yaz Problems have caused great concern to the public, yet, despite the serious side effects many women have experienced after taking the drug, the FDA had only issued a warning to the makers of Yaz about the alleged misleading advertisement about the product, and had only given Yaz birth control their strongest warning label. People have different opinions about what the FDA should have done to better regulate prescription drugs so that illnesses, addictions and fatalities could have been prevented. With stricter regulations, the agency could save the lives of more than fifty women who take contraceptive pills on a daily basis, as well as the lives of millions of consumers taking prescription medication to cure their illnesses and resolve their health concerns.
The role of the FDA as a government agency responsible in the supervision and regulation of the safety of drugs, medicines, cosmetics and related products should not be taken lightly. If the agency would not act fast with regard to the growing number of cases of consumers suffering and even dying out of the side effects of some drugs, many people, not only women but men and children as well, could lose their lives.
